Data connectivity services for higher-bandwidth applications are available from IT Services via two technologies, ISDN Primary Rate (PRI) and T-1. These services offer simultaneous voice, data, and video transmissions at speeds of about 1.5 Mbps. Both offer greater bandwidth than ISDN-BRI, but have less capacity and lower costs than connections to the Campus Backbone Network. These intermediate services are useful for research and medical applications, large data transfers, videoconferencing, and voice traffic.
