Optional features are available upon request at no additional charge to help enhance call coverage, improve call handling and increase the convenience of placing and answering calls.
The following optional features are not included in any of the Service Level Packages, but are available for use with single line or Electronic Business (EBS) sets.
Call Forward Busy
Allows calls to a busy directory number (DN) to be forwarded to another predefined campus directory number (DN). Commonly used with VoiceNet service. No charge.
Call Forward Don't Answer
Allows calls to an unanswered directory number (DN) to be forwarded to another predefined campus directory number (DN). If calls are not answered within 12 seconds (3 to 4 rings) they are automatically forwarded to the predefined campus number. Commonly used with VoiceNet service. No charge.
Call Forward Indication
Provides an audible reminder that the telephone line is in a call forward mode and is being forwarded to another telephone number. No charge.
Call Forward Variable Timing
Allows a user to specify how long a call can be allowed to ring before it is forwarded to another directory number. No charge.
Call Forward Universal
Allows a user to forward all incoming calls to another directory number that resides on or off campus. No charge.
Call Park
Allows a user to park a call against a campus telephone line, and then retrieve the call from another campus telephone. While the call is parked, the caller will hear ringing. You may park only one call at a time, for up to 60 seconds. If the parked call is not retrieved after 60 seconds, it will ring at the originating campus number. No charge.
Call Pick-Up
Allows an incoming call to a Directory Number (DN) not appearing on the your telephone set to be answered by use of an access code or designated Call Pick Up key assigned to the telephone. No charge.
Call Waiting
Informs a user that a second incoming call is waiting. When you are on a call and hear a call-waiting tone, you may choose to answer the call or ignore it. No charge.
Caller ID Unblocked
Outbound Caller ID defines what a recipient of a UCLA call sees on a caller ID-capable set. No charge.
Directory Number Hunt
Allows multiple calls to be answered from a single published Directory Number (DN). If a line is busy, the call is automatically offered to another number in the hunt group. When all lines in a hunt group are busy, Line Overflow Directory enables a call to be overflowed to another DN. Options allow incoming calls to search among a pre-defined group of telephone numbers for an idle line, so callers do not hear a busy signal. No charge.
Directory Number Overflow (LOD)
When all lines in a hunt group are busy, LOD enables a call to be overflowed to another Directory Number. No charge.
Key Short Hunt
Allows incoming calls to hunt through a set of Directory Numbers (DNs) in search of an idle line. The KSH hunt is sequential: it starts at the number dialed and ends at the last number in the group. No charge.
Music On Hold
Allows music to be provide to callers when placed on hold. No charge.
Ring Again
When a user encounters a busy campus number, he/she can activate the Ring Again feature to be notified when that number becomes available (idle). This feature is restricted in some campus calling areas and does not apply to non-campus numbers. No charge.
Single Line Hold
Allows a user to place a call on hold (without a Hold key) on a single line telephone set. A hold reminder rings every 60 seconds alerting you that the call is still on hold. No charge.
Speed Calling, Long List
Allows a user to program a list of either 30 - 50 frequently-called telephone numbers and access them by using two or three-digit codes instead of dialing the entire telephone number. No charge.
Time of Day Restrictions
Restricts a campus Directory Number (DN) from originating calls to off-campus numbers during a specific time of day period. Used to prevent the unauthorized use of phone service during non-business hours. Normal dialing access continues uninterrupted to all UCLA emergency numbers (including 911), all UCLA five-digit numbers, and toll-free 800 and 888 numbers. No charge.
